Another common warning sign that you may have kidney stones is blood in your urine. Referred to hematuria, the blood can slightly vary in color, such as red, pink, or even brown. Since the urinary tract is considered the body’s drainage system, it is in charge of removing extra fluid and waste. And when this is blocked due to a kidney stone, it may cause inflammation and bleeding. There are also times when the blood is considered microscopic, otherwise known as microscopic hematuria. Although the blood cells are too small to see without the aid of a microscope, a test will be able to tell if the urine contains blood.
