The white part of your eyeball is called the sclera, and they are meant to stay white. But if you notice that they have begun to look yellowish in color, it could indicate that you are suffering from a health disorder known as jaundice. This is a condition where the skin, whites of the eyes, and mucous membranes turn yellow due to a high level of bilirubin. This could indicate that someone is suffering from hepatitis, gallstones, autoimmune disorders, and even tumors, just to name a few. If you notice the white of your eyes turning yellowish, ask your doctor to look into the possible reason why.
