9. Floaters

Duke Health

Have you ever noticed little specks that seem to move around in your field of vision at times? These are called floaters, and these tiny dark shapes can look like spots, squiggly lines, threads, and even cobwebs. Moreover, floaters move when you move your eyes, which is why when you try to look at them directly, they tend to move away. People tend to develop floaters as they age, but some people are more prone to them if they are very nearsighted, have had cataract surgery, or are diabetic. Although they are considered pretty common, if they tend to increase in number, this needs to be checked since it could also be a sign of a retinal tear or even a retinal detachment.
